Kenya's Home of Professional Coffee Training
Learn Coffee The Way Proffesionals Do.
Where Passion Became Purpose
Many people know Kenya for producing some of the world's finest coffee. Fewer know how much skill goes into preparing every great cup. Jowam Training Centre was founded with one simple goal, to create a place where anyone with an interest in coffee could learn from experienced professionals, gain practical skills, and build confidence for the future.
Why Students Choose Jowam
Training built for the real industry
There are plenty of short coffee courses out there. Jowam is different because we build for what happens after graduation.
Industry Certification
Graduate with a certificate recognised by cafés and roasteries across Kenya — proof you can back up on day one of the job.
Curriculum with international recognition
Our syllabus is benchmarked against international barista and roasting standards, not just local shop practice.
Professional equipment
Train on the same commercial espresso machines, grinders, and drum roasters used in working cafés and roasteries.
Learn from Professionals
Train with instructors who've worked in cafés, coffee businesses and the specialty coffee industry.
Flexible schedules and short courses
Weekly intakes and both full and short-course formats mean you can start training around work or family commitments.
Everyone Starts Somewhere
Find the course that's right for you
Whether you're learning for employment, business or personal growth, we have a programme designed for you.
Where Passion Became Purpose
Jowam exists to close the gap between a coffee certificate and a coffee career. We saw too many trained baristas who had filled notebooks but had never held their own behind a busy bar — so we built a school where skill is measured in shots pulled, milk textured, and profiles roasted, not pages read. Every course is designed to turn a genuine love of coffee into work that lasts.
Hands-on first
We teach on real professional equipment from day one. Theory only goes as far as it takes to get your hands moving.
Honest standards
Transparent pricing, realistic timelines, and a certificate that actually reflects what a graduate can do.
Community over competition
Our instructors and graduates support each other. We'd rather grow the industry than gatekeep it.

Graduate stories
Every cup tells a different story.
I walked in never having touched an espresso machine. Five weeks later I was pulling clean shots and pouring rosettas. I had a job before the course even ended.
The roasting course is the real thing. Actual green coffee, an actual roaster, and profiles I still use today. Jowam took me from curious to confident.
I'd been on the bar for a year but had gaps. The refresher sharpened my milk work and speed in two weeks. Worth every shilling.
